'Tennis Can be my Medicine’ Emmy nomination!

We are excited to announce that the documentary ‘Tennis Can Be My Medicine’, has been nominated for a 2025 Sports Emmy Award as one of 5 documentaries nominated in the category: ‘Outstanding Long Feature’. The winner will be announced at the Awards ceremony in New York on May 20, 2025. Since Tennis Channel broadcasted the documentary, TRCF’s humanitarian program has grown from 1,000 to 2,700 children participating in nine regions throughout Rwanda. The film focuses on the incredible story of Joseline Umulisa, Co-founder of TRCF, who rose from the tragedies of the 1994 Genocide to become a 7-time National Tennis Champion, and dedicated humanitarian. Joseline believes her story can inspire athletes – particularly the young and she is using tennis to help children learn the game and develop essential life-skills and values.

Joseline made history as the first Rwandan to become amember of International Tennis Club of the United States of America (USIC)
