LUXEMBOURG The "Letz Play" programme was an initiative run by the IC of Luxembourg. It took place in Luxembourg City and was aimed at providing tennis opportunities for disadvantaged children, initially the children of refugee families from Syria and other North African countries seeking to settle in the Grand Duchy. Later, the programme was remodelled to include disadvantaged children from a less well-off region and bring them to a local pre-existing tennis school. The Social Office (a communal entity) looked after families which were in social and economic need; these families had financial and material support from the Office allowing them to access primary necessities and assist in paying their rent. Children keen to pursue the sport then joined the tennis school infrastructure where lessons were arranged and where they could mix with other kids and benefit from social integration.
