ACE Programme report - 2025 ASB Classic ATP 250 January 2025 Tennis Auckland invited children, parents and teachers of Bairds Mainfreight Primary School to the ASB Classic ATP 250 in January 2025. The ACE Programme coaches put on a demonstration with the children on a padel court set up near the entrance to the tournament. The children also got to experience padel and then settled in their own small stand with the parents and teachers on one of the back courts to watch some tennis doubles. Photos and a video have been sent through separate to this report. Term 1 2025 Six ACE Programmes were delivered over 8 weeks in Term1 2025 to 105 children at Bairds Mainfreight Primary School, Otara, Auckland and Flatbush Primary School, Otara, Auckland. Each 45-minute lesson focussed on a particular life skill and a complimentary aspect of tennis tuition. In total, the ACE Programme delivered 630 (45 x 8/60 x 105) child hours in Term 1 2025. Of note, is that since 2019, the ACE Programme has been delivered to 1090 children approximating 7800 child hours. ACE Programme Resourcing There is no shortage of children in low decile schools who could benefit from the ACE Programme. And there is no shortage of low decile schools willing to host the ACE Programme. We have a small group of dedicated ACE Programme coaches who are keen to be involved and work with their community. We have a keen group of volunteers who enjoy being involved in the ACE Programme, although not all are available every week. During 2025 we have been short on local fund-raising resources and week to week administration resources. The trustees of the ACE Charitable Trust took the decision after Term 1 2025 to suspend delivery of the ACE Programme until we had our resourcing in place. The trustees will be reviewing the ACE Programme resourcing in H2 2026 and will advise ICP once this review is complete. Russell Tills Chair ACE Charitable Trust Co-Ordinator ACE Programme
