Summary of 2023 activities

  • January 7 : start of our weekly(every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) indoor training sessions for 50-60 kids.
  • January 14 : first of the monthly coaches’ meeting to manage organizational isues and further professionalize the training sessions.
  • February 12 : the Richard Krajicek Foundation organised a tennis tournament for kids in the age of 8-16 years; they could also join activities like squash, padel, badminton, table tennis and pickle ball.
  • 15 Kids from our Street Tennis project participated.
  • April-June: 22 children participated in junior team competitions.
    • To prepare them for  the competition, there was a special training session organised.
    • Out of the 4 participating teams, 2 became champions.
  • April 22 : informative parents’ meeting; updating them about our activities during the year.
  • Juni 17 : friendly matches were played at a Richard Krajicek playground in Rotterdam.
  • July-August : the best players participated in local junior tournaments coached by one of the trainers.
  • July 24-28: participation of 5 talented kids in a tennis camp lead by a professional tennis school at the courts of our partner Gaasperpark (previously known as Strandvliet).
  • August 19 : workshop for the coaches’ group, focused on teambuilding.
  • September 9 : Summer tournament in 5 age groups at the clay courts of our partner Gaasperpark.
  • September-October : 15 children participated in the autumn version of the junior team competitions.
  • 1 Team became champion.
  • November 18 : Family tournament with sports like tennis, soccer, basketball and hockey.
    • The event was completed with prize giving.
  • November 26 : paying tribute to all competition teams that became champions and celebrating it with playing bowling.
