Summary report 2022

– Streettennis Project Reigersbos/Amsterdam

  • Januari: after a lockdown situation during the wintertime, we could start with our weekly indoor training sessions for all kids at januari 15th.
  • Januari 30: our best junior team played a friendly match against a team from an Amsterdam tennisclub.
  • April-June: 20 children participated in junior team competitions.Out of the 5 participating teams, 3 became champion.
  • May 5 : Junior tournament for children playing with orange and green balls.
  • May 7 : our regular saturday training was conducted at the clay courts of our partner tennisclub LTC Strandvliet and rounded off with prices and ice cream.
  • May 8 : to celebrate their 25th anniversary our sponsor the Richard Krajicek Foundation organised a so called girls event where girls in the age of 10-16 years could join activities like free running, bootcamp, dance workshop, soccer tournament. 10 Girls from our Street Tennis project participated.
  • June 18 : playing tribute to the 3 champions teams.
  • July 4 : to celebrate the opening of the renovated Richard Krajicek-playground – where we conduct our tennis training- a tennisclinic lead by Roger Federer, Richard Krajicek and Esther Vergeer was organised; 7 kids from our project were invited to participate.
  • July 9 : same program as may 7.
  • July 18-22 : participation of 3 talented kids in a tenniscamp lead by a professional tennisschool at the courts of our partner Strandvliet.
  • July – August : the best players participated in local junior tournaments coached by one of the trainers.
  • September-October : 18 children participated in the autumn version of the junior team competitions.3 Teams became champion.
  • October 1 : start of the regular indoor training sessions.
  • December 10 : Winter tournament
  • December 17: Family tournament with sports like tennis , soccer, basketbal, athletics and tug of war.

WINTER  TOURNAMENT

We ended the year festive by organising the so called Winter Tournament.

The kids were divided in small groups based on their tennis level.

 

There after they played 10 minute matches against each other.

All children received a medal and the winners were handed a nice trophy.
