Summary of activities in 2020

The program for Special players offered by the Acell Federation and supported partly by the IC Council Philanthropy program has been strongly affected by the Covid 19 pandemic during the year 2020, being most of the on court practice reduced drastically.

The year started with regular practice with all the participants attending all the sessions. After March 13 all the players attending the tennis sessions, 29% ladies and 61% men saw their practice limited.

The Acell Federation coordinated for all of them online activity and this enabled all the athletes to keep themselves active both physically and mentally.

The coaches even though they were all under the Special regulations offered by the Spanish Government for the pandemic kept the day to day follow up on the athletes to support their new online activity.

After the summer break the sessions started again on court, but again at the end of October the health authorities limited again the on court practice and this was maintained until the end of the year. During the last term the coaches volunteered to keep again the online or telephone contact with the athletes. As of today the on court practice is planned to re start on January 14 2021. The competitions have seen a postponement of the dates and the new dates will be set at the next Annual General Assembly of the Acell Federation.
