VOSLOORUS PLAYERS SET NEW RECORD. After the trials at the Gauteng East headquarters, four of our players were chosen to represent the province in the forthcoming SA Schools inter provincial tournament. Over the years we have regularly had one or two players chosen but this is the first time that more than two have been selected. In the under 13 event Thando Xolo will be playing for the girls whilst Sipho Mniki and Wandile Tshabalala are in the boys team. This will be their first exposure to such an event and is a true reward for their dedication to practice and commitment to the game. In the boys under 19 team it was no surprise to see Nkosikhona Ubisi chosen as he has represented the province in previous years and is our best boy player at the moment. Kgomotso Mabote has been chosen as a reserve for the girls team. Credit must also be paid to coach Michael Lelosa who has been able to groom these players, particularly the youngsters, to the level whereby they are ready to represent their province. The experience will be beneficial to their future and they will learn what it is like to play for a team and all pull together in the interests of the greater goal. The tournament, traditionally held in April, has been put back to August in the hope that the pandemic allows the tournament to take place. The 2020 tournament was cancelled so it will be disappointing if this year’s follows that pattern, but we wait with baited breath to see if these youngsters can achieve what has been their goal for quite sometime. We congratulate them all on being selected, wish them every success and enjoy the moment when you get to the tournament in August.
