Success for Vosloorus players

Success for Vosloorus players

This year as we all know has not been a normal year. Usually our junior provincial teams will take part in the National inter provincial tournament and also possibly have friendly matches against those provinces close to Gauteng.

Notwithstanding that none of these tournaments and events took place Gauteng East still chose teams so that the players received the recognition in view of their results in the various tournaments and trials that took place during the end of last year and early in 2020 before Covid 19 caused a National lock down from 27 March 2020.

Two of our Vosloorus development players were selected for the teams in their age group and we are proud to show them in their team pictures. Kgomotso Mabote was selected for the Gauteng East under 17 team and is seated first left in the front row whilst Nkoshona Ubisi for the Gauteng East under 15 team and is second from the left in the back row.

This is a great achievement for these players who have benefited from the training and coaching they have received from coach Michael Lelosa over the years.

Two weekends ago they both took part in the trials for the 2021 inter provincial teams and in those trials Kgomotso finished 7thin the singles but acquitted herself extremely well finishing as runner up in the doubles. Nkoshona finished 4th in the singles and was also runner up in the doubles. There will be further trials early in 2021 before the teams are officially chosen but we have high hopes that once again they will be selected to represent their province in the various events in 2021.
