Indigenous Tennis & Learning
ICP is supporting a new programme, the Murlpirrmarra Connection. A not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve the wellbeing of Aboriginal youth (aged 12-18) in the remote regions of Western Australia by facilitating their educational engagement and providing tailored community sport, recreation, and health programmes. The project has been built over a 12 year period of sustained engagement with the Martu people and is community driven. Many students are ‘at risk’, particularly in school holidays. A range of community based school holiday programmes are run to address boredom and reduce juvenile delinquency and substance abuse. The programme works with the Martu people to empower young people to fulfil their potential, find sustainable employment and contribute constructively to the Wiluna community and wider society.

Newborough East Primary School, Victoria

Newborough East Primary has had the pleasure to participate in the Kids Tennis Foundation program. Andrew Peavey runs an excellent program that is extremely engaging for the students and the staff. He sets lessons and activities that allow for a wide range of skill levels and the students enjoy the challenges that he offers. He quickly establishes an excellent rapport with the students and the kids look forward to the sessions.
