Indigenous Tennis & Learning
ICP is supporting a new programme, the Murlpirrmarra Connection. A not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve the wellbeing of Aboriginal youth (aged 12-18) in the remote regions of Western Australia by facilitating their educational engagement and providing tailored community sport, recreation, and health programmes. The project has been built over a 12 year period of sustained engagement with the Martu people and is community driven. Many students are ‘at risk’, particularly in school holidays. A range of community based school holiday programmes are run to address boredom and reduce juvenile delinquency and substance abuse. The programme works with the Martu people to empower young people to fulfil their potential, find sustainable employment and contribute constructively to the Wiluna community and wider society.

Thanks to funding from CQS, The Yulgilbar Foundation (Myer) and International Club Philanthropy, KTF programs are being conducted in many primary schools in regional and remote areas of Australia as part of the Ken Rosewall Regional Project. Kids Tennis Foundation is truly indebted to these three wonderful sponsors.
